This is a small spoon made of bone, with a very unusual feature. If you look closely as the spoon turns, it is possible to see five holes in the bowl.
The function of this spoon is unclear although it is obvious that much effort has been put into its design and appearance.
Bone has been used as a material for various purposes for many centuries, although its uses have changed over time: from early weapons to intricately-carved jewellery, from domestic utensils to decorative accessories.
